What Size Candle Do You Need for Your Room?
A tealight in a lobby won't do much; a three-wick candle in a small bedroom can overwhelm. Match the candle to the space.

Scent throw — how far a fragrance travels — depends on the size of the melt pool, the number of wicks and the room. Choosing the right size means the scent is noticeable but never overpowering.
Small spaces: bathrooms, powder rooms, cabins
A 120 g tin or small jar is plenty. In a small bathroom, even 20 minutes of burning fills the room. Fresh scents like eucalyptus and lemongrass work beautifully.
Bedrooms and studies
A 180–200 g single-wick jar is ideal. Choose calming fragrances — lavender, sandalwood, soft florals — and light it for an hour before sleeping (blowing it out before you do).
Living rooms and open kitchens
Go for a larger jar (220 g and up) or two candles placed in different spots. Open-plan rooms need more wax surface to reach the far corners.
Large rooms, lobbies and events
Use multi-wick candles like our 600 g Black Oud Three-Wick, several candles around the space, or combine candles with reed diffusers. Hotels often pair a signature lobby candle with diffusers in corridors.
Strength of the fragrance matters too
Oud, tuberose and gourmand scents carry further than light citrus or green notes. In small rooms choose lighter fragrances; in large rooms you can be bolder.
