Five centrepiece recipes — from a simple weeknight trio to a festive Diwali urli — with the rules that keep them practical.
Avnika Creations द्वारा

A centrepiece doesn't need a florist. A few candles, chosen well, make any meal feel like an occasion.
Five recipes
- Weeknight trio: three pillars of different heights on a round tray.
- Taper line: four to six tapers in mismatched brass holders down a long table.
- Floating urli: a brass urli with water, rose petals and floating candles.
- Festive diya tray: soy diyas on a brass tray with marigolds — perfect for Diwali dinners.
- Greenery runner: eucalyptus or ivy along the centre with tealights in glass votives.
Practical rules
- Keep it low enough to see over — under 30 cm, or tall and slim.
- Use unscented candles near food.
- Leave room for serving dishes.
- Use holders that catch drips.
