Buddha Statues at Home: Feng Shui and Vastu Placement
Meditating, laughing, resting — what each Buddha form represents and where each is traditionally placed.

Buddha statues bring a sense of calm to a room, and in feng shui and Vastu different forms carry different meanings.
Forms and meanings
- Meditating Buddha — peace and focus. Ideal for living rooms, studies and meditation corners.
- Laughing Buddha — joy and abundance; often placed facing the main door.
- Resting Buddha — ease and serenity; lovely on a windowsill or in a garden.
Placement guidance
- East or north-east is commonly recommended.
- Place at or above eye level, never on the floor.
- Face the statue into the room or towards the entrance.
- Avoid bathrooms, kitchens and placing it beside shoes.
Styling
A Buddha beside a lit candle and a small plant creates an instant calm corner. See our Meditating Buddha, Golden Buddha Head and Resting Buddha.
