Buddha Statues at Home: Feng Shui and Vastu Placement

Buddha statues bring a sense of calm to a room, and in feng shui and Vastu different forms carry different meanings.

Forms and meanings

  • Meditating Buddha — peace and focus. Ideal for living rooms, studies and meditation corners.
  • Laughing Buddha — joy and abundance; often placed facing the main door.
  • Resting Buddha — ease and serenity; lovely on a windowsill or in a garden.

Placement guidance

  • East or north-east is commonly recommended.
  • Place at or above eye level, never on the floor.
  • Face the statue into the room or towards the entrance.
  • Avoid bathrooms, kitchens and placing it beside shoes.

Styling

A Buddha beside a lit candle and a small plant creates an instant calm corner. See our Meditating Buddha, Golden Buddha Head and Resting Buddha.
