Oud (agarwood)
A precious resinous wood with a deep, smoky, slightly sweet scent, treasured in Indian and Arabian perfumery.
Oud forms when agarwood trees are infected and produce a dark resin. True oud oil is among the most expensive perfume materials in the world; candles use oud accords inspired by it. Expect a smoky, woody, leathery depth that pairs beautifully with saffron, rose and amber.
